While listening to David Crowder's newest album "Church Music", I was listening to the song "Shadows." It reminds me of many dark times in my life, when things were going on around me and for me. I couldn't help but be moved by the chorus; it reminds me to focus on Jesus and that the darkness will only endure for a season.
When shadows fall on us
We will not fear
We will remember
When darkness falls on us
We will not fear
We will remember
When all seems lost
When we’re thrown and we’re tossed
We’ll remember the cost
We’re resting in the shadow of the cross
We are to remember Jesus' time on the cross. There was a darkness that happened at that time. However, we must remember that it was not the end of the story. On the third day, Jesus rose from the grave, conquering death for us. While our human bodies will fall away and die, our soul will live on with Him. The cost of this was incredibly high, but God was willing to pay it that we would be redeemed to Him. It was for His Glory. We rest in the shadow of the cross of Christ. He covers us.
