Is there something missing?

So much of our history is being eroded away by political correctness. This is yet another example of it. I stumbled onto a devotional in Logos bible software that I don't often look at. It really made me think about this hymn. We in the church usually think of this as being songs entirely about God. This one is focused at Him, leading up to glorifying Him in the final verse. Being young, I have never really taken a lot of time to read or sing this song, usually in school or church on certain occasions. (i.e. Memorial Day) The hymn is "My Country, 'Tis Of Thee".

As I read the words, I can not help but note the final verse. I don't ever recall singing it or even reading it. This hymn is rarely sung today and now I see why. As with everything else, we've taken God out of this country as to not offend someone. What we have failed to realized, that's why we have this country to begin with. It was only by God's blessing that we have it. It makes me think about Job 1:21. "The LORD gave, and the LORD has taken away" I see the latter part happening, as we head toward the prophecy of Isaiah, Daniel and Revelation. Praise Him, as we can see it.

My Country, 'Tis Of Thee
My country, ’tis of thee, sweet land of liberty, of thee I sing: Land where my fathers died, land of the pilgrims’ pride, from ev’ry mountain side let freedom ring!
My native country, thee, land of the noble free, thy name I love: I love thy rocks and rills, thy woods and templed hills; my heart with rapture thrills like that above.
Let music swell the breeze, and ring from all the trees sweet freedom’s song: Let mortal tongues awake; let all that breathe partake; let rocks their silence break, the sound prolong.
Our father’s God, to Thee, author of liberty, to Thee we sing: Long may our land be bright with freedom’s holy light; protect us by Thy might, great God, our King!
